A 16-year-old boy in Molo, Nakuru County, has been arrested after confessing to killing his mother inside their residential house over allegations of not revealing his biological father.
Officers from Elburgon Police Station and Molo DCI rushed to the scene in Nyakiambi area, where they found the body of the middle-aged woman.
According to the police report, the boy is a form three dropout.
The minor allegedly killed his mother and attempted to conceal her body inside their home.
The disturbing incident is reported to have occurred on Friday, with family members discovering the gruesome scene on Saturday afternoon.
According to relatives, the boy had dug a shallow grave inside the house where he intended to bury the body.
Concerned family members visited the home after efforts to reach the deceased, Beth Wanjiku, 48, were unsuccessful for two days.
Upon arrival, they found the house locked from the inside. After forcing entry, they were met with the horrifying sight of Wanjiku’s body lying in a pool of blood, bearing deep cut wounds.
The suspect, believed to be her son, was found hiding under a bed. He was immediately apprehended and handed over to police officers from Molo Police Station, where he is currently being held.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Elburgon Sub-County Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
