Motemorabu Police Post officers acted on an intelligence tip-off from a member of the public and intercepted a motorcycle with a rider and one pillion passenger carrying a black bag.
Upon searching the bag, they discovered sixty-seven (67) large rolls of cannabis sativa, weighing 5.5Kg with an estimated street value of Ksh165,000.
The two suspects were arrested and escorted to Motemorabu Police Post, later transferred to Isebania Police Station pending processing and arraignment. The motorcycle and the bag were secured as exhibits at the same facility.
This follows an incident where NPS officers on patrol along the Kakamega-Mumias Road recovered an abandoned black Toyota Fielder motor vehicle.
Upon searching, the officers discovered bhang packed in seven bags, weighing 159.15 kg with an estimated street value of Ksh 4,774,500.
The vehicle was towed and detained at Kakamega Police Station pending further investigations to identify the owner.
