Law enforcement officers in Embakasi apprehended three individuals behind godown breaking and theft on Tuesday, July 8, at Vimit Convertors Limited, located along Mombasa Road near the SGR.
The suspects breached the facility’s security by scaling the wall and cutting through the iron sheet roof.
Once inside, they targeted the offices and made off with electronics, including two laptops (a Microsoft Surface and a Razer), a Huawei iPad, and a Soundlink Mini speaker, among other valuable items.
The arrested individuals, identified as Francis Ndusa Buika, Patrick Mututho, and Ezekiel Ndusa Musyoki, are currently in custody undergoing processing, pending arraignment.
This comes after a total of 37 suspects who committed terrorism related acts under the guise of the June 25, 2025, protests were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kahawa on Tuesday.
The suspects were charged under the Prevention of Terrorism Act No. 30 of 2012, alongside additional counts including arson and malicious damage to government property.
Of the 37 suspects, 25 were apprehended in Kikuyu Town, Kiambu County, 10 were arrested in Matuu Town, Yatta Sub-County, Machakos County, and 2 masterminds, Sarah Wanjiku Thiga and Peter Kinyanjui Wanjiru alias “Kawanjiru”, within Kiambu and Ruiru, respectively.
The court directed that all suspects be held at their respective police stations within Nairobi County, pending the outcome of a defence application scheduled for ruling on Thursday, July 10.
