AFC Leopards head to Bandari as 25/26 SportPesa League resumes with Week 20 fixtures

The 2025/2026 SportPesa League returns this weekend with Round 20 fixtures lined up from Friday to Sunday after the break that paved way for the FKF Cup, with several matches affected by venue changes following the closure of Kasarani Stadium for renovations ahead of AFCON 2027.

Sports Kenya confirmed that Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, including its annex and training facilities, is now closed for Phase II upgrades.

Nyayo Stadium will remain temporarily available before its own shutdown, forcing a number of league fixtures to be relocated.

Action begins on Friday with Bidco United hosting Kakamega Homeboyz at SportPesa Arena. Bidco sit 17th on 16 points and are enduring the longest winless run in the league, having gone 14 matches without victory since beating Ulinzi Stars last October.

They managed a 1-1 draw against champions Kenya Police in their last outing but remain under pressure.

Homeboyz, sixth on 28 points from 18 matches, have lost just once in their last five games and recently played out a 3-3 draw with Mara Sugar.

On Saturday, AFC Leopards travel to Mbaraki to face Bandari. Leopards are second on 36 points, four behind leaders Gor Mahia, and still have a game in hand.

Bandari sit ninth with 27 points and will look to strengthen their position in the top half. Later, Mathare United meet Tusker at Police Sacco Grounds.

Mathare are 12th with 22 points, while Tusker are eighth on 28 points and chasing ground in a tightly packed mid-table battle.

At Wang’uru Stadium, Posta Rangers host Shabana after the fixture was moved from Nyayo. Posta are 11th on 24 points, while Shabana are third with 31 points and remain within reach of the top two. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm kick-off.

Sunday’s programme sees several key clashes. Sofapaka face Murang’a Seal at Vapour Grounds in Ngong after the game was shifted from Kasarani Annex.

Sofapaka are bottom of the table on 14 points and have lost their last three matches without scoring. Murang’a Seal are fourth on 30 points and pushing to break into the top three.

League leaders Gor Mahia travel to face APS Bomet at Kericho Green Stadium. Gor sit top with 40 points from 19 matches and are seeking a fifth straight league win.

Their strong run recently saw right-back Paul Ochuoga and head coach Charles Akonnor named Player and Coach of the Month of January respectively after winning five of six matches.

APS Bomet are 14th with 18 points and looking to create distance from the lower end of the table.

Elsewhere, KCB take on Kariobangi Sharks at Police Sacco Grounds after the match was moved from Kasarani.

KCB are seventh with 28 points, level with Tusker and Homeboyz, while the Sharks are 16th on 17 points and battling to move away from the relegation zone.

The round concludes with Ulinzi Stars hosting Kenya Police at Ulinzi Sports Complex. Ulinzi are 15th on 17 points, just above the bottom three, while Police are fifth on 29 points and remain within reach of the top four.
