African Popstar and “Queen of the East” Nadia Mukami has candidly shared the challenges of raising her second child, revealing that motherhood has become more demanding as she balances family and her thriving music career.
Speaking during an interview on This Friday with Betty aired on TV47 and hosted by Betty Kyallo on Friday, March 20, 2026, the award-winning singer admitted that parenting has not been as smooth as some might assume. “If I say it’s easy, I’ll be lying, it’s not easy,” she said.

Mukami explained that her second child has brought a completely different experience compared to her firstborn.
While her first baby quickly adapted to a sleep routine, the newborn requires constant attention, especially at night. “This one doesn’t like to sleep at all, he wakes up three or four times a night,” she revealed.
The singer added that the frequent night interruptions have taken a toll on her rest. “I don’t remember the last time I slept through the night,” she said, highlighting the exhaustion that comes with caring for an infant.

She also pointed out the demanding nature of early motherhood, noting that much of the responsibility falls on her during this stage.
“When a child is young, he needs a mother, what can the father do?” she remarked, emphasizing the hands-on role she plays, particularly during nighttime care.
Despite the challenges, Mukami remains focused on her music journey. She disclosed that fans can expect new music soon, with a release lined up in the coming days. “I have new music coming out, probably next week,” she shared.

In addition, the African Popstar is preparing to drop a new EP titled Bundle of Joy 2, a continuation of a project that previously resonated with her audience.
Looking ahead, Mukami is also gearing up for a major milestone as she plans a special concert to mark a decade in the music industry, celebrating ten years of growth, consistency, and success.
