Just a day after completing the Luo traditional mourning ritual known as “Tero Yuak ” Meshack Ojwang’, father to the slain blogger Albert Ojwang’, has revealed that President William Ruto personally reached out to him via phone to convey his condolences.

Speaking to the press on Monday June 16, 2025, Mr. Ojwang’ said the President also extended financial support of Ksh2 million to assist the family during this difficult time. 

He reiterated that their quest for justice remains unwavering and that they will not allow Albert to rest until those responsible are brought to book.

Meanwhile, family spokesperson Kenneth Ouma dismissed claims that the family has filed a joint petition alongside unnamed politicians regarding the ongoing case.

In a show of support, the Homa Bay County Government has begun construction of a two-bedroom house for the Ojwang’ family. 

Governor Gladys Wanga, who presided over the groundbreaking event, urged the national government to expedite investigations and ensure justice is served.
