Kenyan socialite and entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has joined the growing list of public figures mourning the death of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, offering a rare personal glimpse into the impact he had on her life.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Huddah paid tribute to the late politician, recalling how he once came through for her during a difficult chapter.

“RIP J. Watu husema Luhyas hawatoi pesa but this one alinitoa block. Ile block serious,” she wrote, a statement that quickly caught the attention of her followers.

The message, laced with honesty and emotion, painted Jirongo as a generous figure who extended help when it mattered most.

“We have lost a father figure. Jirongo educated many children here and always came through for families in need,” said Elizabeth Jirongo, his sister-in-law.

Huddah’s acknowledgment stood out not just because of her celebrity status, but because it highlighted a side of Jirongo that was often unseen by the public.

Known widely for his political career, business interests and bold personality, Jirongo was also remembered by those close to him as someone willing to uplift others quietly, without fanfare.

“This community benefited a lot from him. He paid school fees for many children and helped widows and the vulnerable,” One of the residents said.

Her words sparked conversation online, with many Kenyans reflecting on the late MP’s legacy beyond politics.

Some applauded Huddah for speaking openly, noting that such testimonies often emerge only after a person’s passing, revealing the depth of their influence in private spaces.

Cyrus Jirongo died on Saturday, December 13, following a tragic road accident in Naivasha along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.

Preliminary reports indicate that he was driving to his rural home in Lugari, Kakamega County, when his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a PSV bus at around 3:00 am. Naivasha DCIO Isaac Kiama confirmed that Jirongo died on the spot.

As condolences continue to pour in from political leaders, friends and admirers, Huddah Monroe’s tribute adds a human, deeply personal layer to the story of a man whose influence extended far beyond the public eye.
