The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) – Coast Branch, under the leadership of its Chairperson Architect Dancan Odhiambo, has joined Kenyans in mourning the passing of The Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga.
The branch pays tribute to a visionary leader who championed proper planning and sustainable development across Kenya’s engineering and infrastructure sectors. His legacy is etched in landmark projects such as the Thika Superhighway and the LAPSSET Corridor, which continue to transform the nation’s economic landscape.
“Kenya has lost not just a statesman but an engineer at heart—one who believed in structured growth and modern infrastructure. Rest well, Engineer Jakom,” said Architect Dancan Odhiambo, Chairperson of AAK Coast Branch.
Raila Odinga, popularly known as Baba, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, marking the end of an era in Kenya’s political history. His death has left the country mourning a man whose life’s mission was to fight for democracy, justice, and unity.
He will be laid to rest next to his father, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, at Kang’o ka Jaramogi.
