The Kenyan entertainment scene has been thrown into mourning following a tragic incident at Nigerian superstar Asake’s concert held in Nairobi on December 20, 2025, where a stampede allegedly led to the death of a fan identified as Karen Lojore.
In an official statement, event organisers Tukutane Entertainment confirmed that a fatal incident occurred during the concert.
“We are deeply saddened to confirm that a tragic incident occurred during our December 20th concert, resulting in the loss of life,” the organisers stated.

They extended condolences to those affected, adding, “Our hearts are with the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this devastating loss.”
Tukutane Entertainment emphasized that safety remains a key priority at their events. “The safety and well-being of everyone who attends our events is something we take very seriously,” the statement read.
The organisers further revealed that they are working closely with authorities, saying, “We are cooperating fully with emergency services and the appropriate authorities as they work to understand what happened.”
Out of respect for the bereaved family and the ongoing investigations, they noted that they would not speculate on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The tragic development has sparked widespread public concern, with reports alleging that the incident occurred following a stampede during the high-energy show.
Asake also addressed the tragedy through an emotional message shared on his Instagram Stories. “I am devastated by the tragic incident that took place at the festival on Dec 20th in Nairobi,” the artiste wrote.

He added, “My heart goes out to the family, friends, and I pledge to support and do my best to understand what happened.”
Calling for accountability, Asake stated, “Those responsible should be held accountable,” while expressing heartbreak over the loss.
“Music has always been my way of sharing love and joy, and it breaks my heart that anyone had to experience such loss,” he said.
He concluded by offering prayers, writing, “I pray that Karen rests in peace. God bless Kenya.”
