Media personality Oga Obinna has called for tighter security around Embakasi East MP Babu Owino following an alleged attack involving Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, warning that the legislator’s current protection is inadequate.
Reacting to the incident, Obinna said Babu Owino narrowly escaped serious harm, claiming the confrontation nearly cost the legislator’s life. Obinna urged Babu’s security team to take their responsibility more seriously, stressing that no leader should be left exposed.
“Kuanzia leo, security wa Babu, msiende nyumbani mpaka muone ameingia bedroom salama,” Obinna said, adding that Babu should be guarded with the seriousness accorded to a top national leader.
Obinna’s comments have sparked intense public debate and renewed focus on political safety in Kenya. While the exact circumstances of the altercation with Alai remain unclear, questions have been raised about how easily the situation escalated.
The media personality further alleged that Babu’s security detail should be armed and prepared, calling for immediate reinforcement to prevent future incidents.
