The body of a man who went missing for 28 years was found in a melting glacier in Pakistan’s remote and mountainous Kohistan region.
A shepherd by the name of Omar Khan stumbled upon the body, which, according to him, was remarkably well-preserved, with its clothing intact, in the Lady Valley.
“What I saw was unbelievable. The body was intact. The clothes were not even torn,” Omar told BBC.
Naseeruddin, a 33-year-old member of the Saleh Khel tribe, disappeared in June 1997 while riding on horseback through Supat Valley alongside his brother, Kathiruddin.
The two were reportedly traveling together after a family dispute, according to various media sources.
According to his brother, during the hike, Naseeruddin fell into a crevasse but managed to secure shelter inside a cave.
Kathiruddin left to seek help; however, upon returning, he could no longer trace his brother.
Along with the body, Naseeruddin’s ID was found.
According to locals, Naseeruddin had a wife and two children at the time he went missing.
