CAF announces six venues in Morocco that will host the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

The confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Morocco Local Organizing Committee have unveiled the six stadiums that will host the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.

This marks the first time in the tournament’s history that more than three venues will be used, signaling a significant step forward for women’s football on the continent.

State-of-the-Art and historic venues

The selected stadiums reflect a blend of cutting-edge facilities and rich football heritage. The brand-new Olympic Stadium in Rabat, with a capacity of 21,000, is a modern, world-class venue located near the iconic Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

This stadium is also set to host matches for the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

In Casablanca, two venues will be in use: the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, currently the temporary home for Raja and Wydad Casablanca, and the 10,000-seat Père Jégo Stadium, named after the legendary Moroccan coach. The Larbi Zaouli Stadium, with a capacity of 30,000, has recently hosted matches for the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The El Bachir Stadium in Mohammédia, renovated in 2019, will also play a key role. It is home to SCC Mohammédia and recently hosted the final of the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

In Oujda, the Honor Stadium, with a capacity of 35,000, has hosted several international matches, including fixtures for the Morocco national team. Finally, the Berkane Stadium, with a capacity of 12,000, is the home of RS Berkane and has hosted both international and CAF interclub matches.
