Cape Media Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mwenda Njoka has eulogized Raila Odinga as a man whose tireless advocacy for change leaves an indelible mark on Kenya’s history.
In a statement on Wednesday October 15, 2025, the Cape Media CEO expressed his condolences to the entire Odinga family, political leaders, civil rights movement and Kenyans in general.
“It is with profound sorrow that I mourn the passing on of Former Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga.
“I extend my condolences to the entire Odinga family, political leaders,civil rights movement and Kenyans in general,” Njoka noted in a statement.
Njoka added that Raila Odinga’s unwavering commitment to justice, democracy, and the fight against oppression inspired generations.
According to the Cape Media CEO, Raila’s courage in the face of adversity and his tireless advocacy for change leaves an indelible mark on Kenya’s history.
“During the height of the struggle for multiparty democracy, Raila played a pivotal role in securing my release and that of my five colleagues in the pro-democracy Society magazine in the early nineties from detention at Shimo last Tewa Maximum Prison under the Moi regime-a testament to his solidarity and belief in our shared vision of a free and equitable Kenya,” Njoka stated.
He concluded by emphasizing that the country has lost a patriot whose resolve for a just Kenya shall be cherished forever.
Njoka is the CEO of Cape Media Limited, the company that owns the fastest growing media brands in Kenya, Radio 47 and TV47.
