Kenyan digital creator Cassypool, born Kevin Odhiambo, has sparked regional conversation after sending advance congratulations to Uganda’s long-serving President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, as preliminary poll results show the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) taking a commanding lead.
According to the latest figures, Museveni is leading the race with, 73.72%, while opposition leader Bobi Wine of the National Unity Platform (NUP) trails at 22.66 %. Official results are yet to be fully confirmed by electoral authorities.
Taking to his Instagram on Saturday, January 17, Cassypool shared a congratulatory message the quickly drew mixed reactions online.
“Congratulations in advance East Africa Papa Mzee Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.” He wrote, praising the veteran leader even as vote tallying continues.

The post follows Cassypool recent visit to Uganda, where he attended a campaign rally in Uganda which was also graced by President Museveni.
Addressing the crowd, Cassypool expressed admiration for the Ugandan leader and highlighted what he described as Museveni’s impact beyond national boarders.
“I have brought greetings from Kenya and we love mzee very much. We follow him closely.,” Cassypool said during the event.

He added that his presence was meant to show early appreciation for the president’s leadership.
“We have come to give him flowers early to show that he is doing great work for both Ugandans and Kenyans, and for East Africa in general,” Cassypool continued.
He also went ahead to make a regional appeal, urging Museveni to push for deeper integration across East Africa if he secures another term.
“Because I know people are voting for you in large numbers, I plead with you that when you secure the seat again, you work to unite East Africa and make it one region. Thank you,” he concluded.
