CAVB President visits Kenya to boost volleyball development

The President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), Bouchra Hajij, arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, on the night of Monday, October 27, 2025, continuing her continental engagement program.
Purpose and Itinerary

President Hajij is in the country for an official visit with a tight schedule focused on volleyball development and regional cooperation.

Her visit is part of a broader mission to strengthen relationships with national federations, foster collaboration with key stakeholders, and promote the growth and governance of volleyball across Africa.

During her stay, she will hold a series of meetings with volleyball stakeholders, national federation officials and sports authorities

These discussions aim to outline strategies for enhancing volleyball development and cooperation within the region, ultimately advancing the sport across the continent.

Moroccan Hajij Bouchra was in 2020 elected as the new president of the Confederation of Volleyball of Africa.

Bouchra became the first woman to be elected as the president of CAVB since its formation in 1972 as Women have always held the gender minority and executive committee member position only.

She took over from long-serving Dr. Amr Elwani of Egypt. Elwani, 74, served CAVB for 24 years including 19 as the president- since 2001
