Chelsea has reached a full agreement with Ajax for Jorrel Hato, with reports indicating an initial fee in the region of £35.5 million (€40m+), plus add-ons. This follows intense negotiations where Ajax had initially valued the player closer to £52 million.
Hato is now set to fly to London in the coming days to undergo his medical examination. Once cleared, the 19-year-old Dutch international will sign a substantial seven-year contract with Chelsea, demonstrating the club’s long-term vision for the talented defender.
Hato’s desire to join Chelsea has been clear, with reports suggesting he declined to play in Ajax’s recent Como Cup final to avoid any risk of injury ahead of his highly anticipated move.
His versatility as a left-footed centre-back and left-back, combined with his impressive maturity and ball-playing abilities, makes him a significant acquisition for the Blues as they continue to build a squad for the future.
Meanwhile Manchester United have intensified their pursuit of a new striker, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko emerging as their top target.
The highly-rated Slovenian international is now firmly in the sights of the Old Trafford club, with initial talks already underway with Leipzig and the player’s representatives.
While Newcastle United have also shown significant interest in the 22-year-old, reports indicate that Sesko himself is leaning towards a move to Manchester United.
