Chelsea delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season, sweeping aside Barcelona 3–0 on a night when Borussia Dortmund marched on in style and Manchester City were handed a rare home defeat in Europe.
Chelsea 3–0 Barcelona
Chelsea climbed into the top half of the league-phase standings after calmly dismantling Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.
Ferran Torres wasted a good early chance for the visitors before a stroke of misfortune opened the scoring — Jules Koundé accidentally bundled Pedro Neto’s effort into his own net.
Barcelona’s problems deepened when Ronald Araújo was dismissed for a second booking just before halftime. With the Spanish giants down to ten men, Chelsea tightened their grip.
Estêvão produced a brilliant solo effort shortly after the break, before Liam Delap finished neatly from an Enzo Fernández pass to cap a dominant display.
Man City 0–2 Leverkusen
Manchester City’s long unbeaten run at home in the Champions League league phase — stretching back seven years — came to an end as Bayer Leverkusen stunned them in Manchester.
City threatened early, but Leverkusen’s first big break was decisive: a sweeping counterattack ended with Alejandro Grimaldo firing past the goalkeeper.
Despite City’s pressure, Leverkusen held firm and doubled their advantage early in the second half when Patrik Schick glanced in a cross from Ibrahim Maza, leaving the English champions with no reply.
Dortmund 4–0 Villarreal
Borussia Dortmund made light work of Villarreal, who are still searching for their first win of the campaign.
Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime, tapping in from close range, before doubling his tally moments later when he converted a rebound from a saved penalty — awarded after Juan Foyth handled on the line and was sent off.
With Villarreal reduced to ten, Dortmund coasted. Karim Adeyemi added a powerful strike and Daniel Svensson headed in another to wrap up a one-sided contest.
Galatasaray 0–1 Union SG
Union Saint-Gilloise picked up a valuable away win in Istanbul, ending Galatasaray’s three-match winning run.
Promise David broke the deadlock shortly before the hour, finishing off a clever cutback from Adem Zorgane.
Galatasaray, missing top scorer Victor Osimhen, pushed hard for an equaliser but failed to break through and finished the match with ten men after Arda Ünyay was sent off late on.
Marseille 2–1 Newcastle
Marseille overturned an early deficit to edge past Newcastle at the Stade Vélodrome.
Harvey Barnes had put the visitors ahead early, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang — who had threatened several times before the break — turned the match around with a quickfire brace moments into the second half.
Newcastle struggled to regain momentum, and Marseille held on comfortably.
Ajax 0–2 Benfica
Benfica ended their run of poor results with a composed win in Amsterdam.
Samuel Dahl hammered in the opener inside the first ten minutes after Ajax’s goalkeeper had initially made a fine save.
The hosts created several openings of their own but were repeatedly kept out before Benfica sealed the result in stoppage time when Leandro Barreiro combined neatly with Fredrik Aursnes and finished emphatically.
Napoli 2–0 Qarabağ
Napoli secured their second league-phase victory, with Scott McTominay involved in both goals.
After an energetic but goalless first half — including a saved penalty from Rasmus Højlund — McTominay headed in shortly after the hour mark.
Minutes later, his volley across goal deflected off Marko Janković and found the back of the net.
Bodø/Glimt 2–3 Juventus
Juventus staged a late escape in Norway after a spirited performance from Bodø/Glimt.
The hosts went ahead through Ole Didrik Blomberg, but Loïs Openda equalised and Weston McKennie put the Italians 2–1 up.
A late penalty levelled the match again, only for Jonathan David to respond almost immediately with a composed finish in added time.
Slavia Praha 0–0 Athletic Club
Slavia and Athletic shared the points in a lively but goalless encounter in Prague.
Both sides created clear chances — Athletic forced multiple sharp saves early in the second half, while Slavia’s best opportunity was wasted from close range. Neither team managed to find the finishing touch.
