The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the replacement of Gloria Orwoba with Consolata Nabwire Wakwabubi as UDA’s nominated Senator following Orwoba’s expulsion from the ruling party.
The electoral body confirmed the change through an official statement contained in Gazette Notice No. 11447 dated August 15, 2025.
“Following the expulsion of Gloria Magoma Orwoba from the register of membership of United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the Commission has effected the necessary changes to the Senate nominations list,” declared the IEBC.

The notice signed off by IEBC Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon further confirmed the changes will take immediate effect.
“The name Gloria Magoma Orwoba shall be deleted and replaced with Consolata Nabwire Wakwabubi as the duly nominated UDA woman representative to the Senate.”

The Commission also emphasized that the action was taken in accordance with constitutional provisions.
“This replacement is made under the powers granted by Articles 88(4), 90 and 98(1)(b) of the Constitution of Kenya and Section 37 of the Elections Act, 2011,” said IEBC.
