Socialite, entrepreneur Corazon Kwamboka has officially announced her intention to vie for the Nairobi Women Representative seat in the 2027 general elections.
Making the announcementon an interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, Corazon was direct about her ambitions.
“I should just be the representative of women in Nairobi,” she stated.
Mwakideu, clearly excited by the revelation, encouraged her on the spot.
“Corazon Kwamboka, why not? 2027, why not?” he pressed.
The businesswoman made a compelling case for her candidacy, drawing from her personal journey as a self-made woman who has navigated life’s challenges without a safety net.
“As a woman, a single mom, raising two kids, running a business, dealing with real issues, gotten to where I am without anybody’s help, I truly understand the struggle that women go through,” Corazon explained.
For Corazon, her lived experience is what sets her apart from career politicians who only show up when the cameras are rolling.
She believes that people with real-world experiences need to be at the table where decisions affecting women are made.
“I feel like people like me need to be part of the conversation,” she said.
Taking a subtle but pointed swipe at existing women representatives, Corazon expressed frustration at leaders who only become vocal when social issues trend online.
“Let it not be when there’s something trending or end femicide, that’s when we see our women representatives coming out to speak,” she said, signaling that her approach to representation would be fundamentally different.
With her announcement, Corazon Kwamboka joins a growing list of personalities from outside traditional politics seeking to shake up Kenya’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
