Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya loses his father

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has lost his father.

Mgalla Mvurya died at home in Mavirivirini village, Kinango sub-county yesterday. He was 83.

Mzee Mgalla is set to be buried this afternoon in accordance with Muslim rites.

"The Kenya Kwanza Alliance is saddened by the passing of Mzee Mgala Mvurya Wanini," said Deputy President William Ruto. "We have lost a father, a grandfather and an elder: a man of wisdom, a counsellor and leader. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Governor Mvurya during this difficult time. May the Lord grant Mzee eternal rest."

He died aged 83.

This is the second time in under a year that the Mvurya is mourning. The governor lost his mother Sada Mgalla last mother. She died at 75.
