The High Court has set July 8, 2026 as the hearing date for the case against police officer Klinzy Barasa Masinde, who is charged with the murder of mask vendor Boniface Kariuki Mwangi.
The matter was mentioned today for pre-trial directions where the court gave directions on the hearing of the case.
Masinde appeared before the court virtually from the Nairobi remand prison.
The court directed the DPP and parties to exchange committal bundles and determine the lead file so that whatever documents are served are shared with all parties.
State counsel Gikui Gichuhi told the court that the prosecution served the committal bundles in July last year.
The court gave the parties 21 days to confirm the same.
The case will be heard on July 8.
