CS Hassan Joho hints at ODM and Kenya Kwanza collaborations beyond 2027

Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has stated that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party will continue collaborating with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government, even after the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview with Radio 47 on 10th April 2025, Joho said that ODM is supporting president William Ruto so that he can flourish and make Kenya a better place.

The Mining CS firmly stated that ODM prides itself in good politics for the benefit of Kenyans, so joining government was an opportunity to achieve the goals they had during the 2022 elections.

“We are supporting the gov’t of William Ruto to perform well. ODM is of the opinion that we don’t have to play aggressive politics all the time. That is why we are in a cooperation agreement with the government,” CS Hassan Joho stated.

The CS emphasized that ODM is an organized party and their leader Raila Odinga signed an MoU with president Ruto after thorough consultation.

“ODM is a well-managed, structured political party. Our leader Raila Odinga signed an MoU with President William Ruto after thoroughly consulting the members,” CS Joho noted.

Joho explained that ODM being the biggest political party in Kenya, definitely has plans for the 2027 elections and projected that they might be on the same page with the Kenya Kwanza Government.

“ODM is the biggest party in Kenya, and it is going to participate in 2027 elections. It is not going to die because it is cooperating with the government,” Joho said.
