Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano expressed her delight at hosting global sensation IShowSpeed on his #SpeedDoesAfrica tour.
Throughout his visit, Kenyans demonstrated why Kenya stands as Africa’s premier destination for digital creativity and youth culture.
“From his arrival, the energy was extraordinary. Speed immersed himself in Kenyan culture, learning to cook ugali and chapati, and visiting Nairobi National Park where he interacted with wildlife, including feeding a baby rhino he named Rhinaldo,” Miano said.
IshowSpeed’s journey included riding camels at Uhuru Park and playing basketball with talented youth at the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project, showcasing Nairobi’s modern, dynamic, and welcoming character.
In the Maasai Mara, Speed embraced Kenyan heritage by participating in the traditional Maasai jump and the sacred ritual of drinking milk mixed with blood, demonstrating his respect for Kenya’s deep cultural traditions.
He also witnessed the World’s Greatest Annual Terrestrial Wildlife Migration, officially recognized in the World Book of Records.
The livestream broke records, placing Kenya at the top of his African tour rankings. In a historic moment captured live in Nairobi, Speed surpassed 48 million subscribers.
CS Miano emphasized that this visit proved Kenya offers more than just a travel destination, it provides an immersive journey through nature, culture, and humanity.
Speed’s visit reinforced that Kenya, the Cradle of Mankind, creates lasting memories that inspire return visits.
“Kenya is open, safe, and ready to welcome visitors. Karibuni Kenya, the Origin of Wonder!” Miano concluded.
