Media personality and comedian Dr. Ofweneke has stirred conversation after advising men to marry women who share the same level of ambition and appetite for success.
Speaking on his Radio 47 show, Chemba, the host said many men are battling stress and depression because they ended up with partners whose goals and energy do not match their own.
According to Ofweneke, compatibility in ambition is just as important as compatibility in love. He said men should avoid marrying women who are either too comfortable in life or unwilling to pursue personal growth.

Instead, he encouraged men to choose partners who are focused, hardworking, and motivated to improve themselves.
“Men marry someone who has the same appetite for life as you,” he said. “Most men are suffering because they married women with completely different levels of drive. If you want to succeed, be with a woman who also wants to succeed.”
The host added that modern relationships require shared effort, noting that the era of women staying idle in the home is long gone.
He clarified that men do not necessarily want a woman’s money, but they desire a partner who shows initiative and is engaged in meaningful pursuits.
Ofweneke argued that some women lose respect in their marriages because their husbands feel overwhelmed carrying all responsibilities, from rent to school fees, without receiving any form of support or motivation at home.
He noted that men find such situations draining and emotionally unfulfilling.
“Some women have become liabilities,” he said. “Your man is handling major bills, yet you can’t even challenge him intellectually or motivate him. Men want partners who are on their toes.”
He concluded by urging men to marry women whose goals, hunger for progress, and vision for the future mirror their own.
