DCI arrests two in Mombasa drug bust, uncovers child trafficking links

Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit in Mombasa have apprehended two suspected traffickers and seized 250 grams of heroin in a targeted operation.

The raid follows intelligence reports linking the suspects to both narcotics’ distribution and child trafficking networks.

Officers stormed a residence in Maweni Estate, Nyali, which was suspected of serving as a hub for illegal operations.

During the search, they uncovered three packets of heroin, leading to the immediate detention of Amir Latf and Ruhman Abubakar.

Early findings suggest the pair are involved in more than just drug dealing.

Investigators believe they’ve been operating child trafficking rings spanning Mombasa, Malindi and Nairobi, exploiting vulnerable minors across multiple counties.

Both suspects remain in police custody as they await formal charges in court.
