The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned Nzaui/Kilili/Kalamba MCA Francis Mutuku alias Musso and nominated MCA Urbanus Wambua a.k.a Kana among other suspects over allegations of sponsoring chaos during the June 25, 2025 protests in Makueni County.
The individuals were summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices in Makueni for grilling on July 2, 2025.
A letter seen by TV47, shows that the two are required to report at Wote DCI offices in person by 10am failure to which they will be liable to prosecution.
Police claim the two legislators organized ‘youths’ who raided business premises to loot as Gen Z staged protests in the towns of Emali and Makindu.
However, they have denied the claims.
Speaking a day after the demos last week, Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse who’s allied to Kenya Kwanza government and whose property was partly destroyed during the protests promised to deal with the ‘sponsors’.
More than 50 people were arrested last year during Gen Z demos, including the two summoned MCAs and Makueni County Assembly Speaker Douglas Mbilu.
They were charged at Makindu law courts in Makueni.
Meanwhile, two youths were shot dead by police in Emali and several wounded during this year’s Gen Z anniversary on June 25.
