Kenyan content creator Diana Marua has sparked a conversation online after declaring that she will not carry another child for her husband, musician Kevin Bahati, unless he parts with Ksh 10 million.
The bold demand came during a video posted on her YouTube channel, in which Diana left no room for negotiation.
She made it clear that the money was non-negotiable before any conversation about another baby could begin.
In the video, Diana was firm in her position, saying that she is not taking anything less than Ksh 10 million, citing the significant sacrifices she would have to make.
“I am putting aside my career, my body goals, and my plans for the next one, two, or three years to take care of Malaika’s sibling. So for that sacrifice, for me to get something for you, is it a deal or no?” she asked.
Bahati, however, balked at the figure, rejecting the proposal outright.
“No deal,” he said, adding that while the news of a pregnancy would excite him, he questioned where the Ksh10 million would come from.
He instead proposed paying Ksh100,000 upfront and settling the remainder on the day of delivery.
“Sawa, tufanye hivi nikupee 100,000 halafu hiyo ingine nikupee the day you’re giving birth,” Bahati said.
Diana was having none of it, telling Bahati that he should pay her the money if he really wants another child.
“No, it’s not going to happen. Unafaa kunipea Ksh 8 million kama deposit then hiyo Ksh 2 million imebaki, you give me on that night,” she shot back.
She made clear that if her terms were not met, she was prepared to focus on her own endeavours for the next five years.
