A shocking murder has rocked Obunga, Kisumu Central Sub-County, leaving the community in fear.

The gruesome incident unfolded in the early hours of 20th March 2026, at around 2:02 a.m., when a tenant, Jalego Omondi, was reportedly found in his home with a woman friend, identified only as Trizer.

According to reports from the landlord, Benard Opiyo, chaos erupted when Trizer’s other boyfriend, known as Aboy, allegedly discovered the pair. In a fit of rage, he reportedly attacked them with a knife.

The victims attempted to flee the scene but tragically succumbed to their injuries outside the house at different points.

Obunga police officers, together with DCI Kondele detectives, quickly arrived at the scene. They secured the area, processed the crime scene and moved the bodies to JOORTH Mortuary for preservation ahead of autopsy.

Authorities confirm the suspect remains at large and the murder weapon has not yet been recovered.

The shocking event has left residents on edge, highlighting the deadly consequences of passion and betrayal in the quiet suburb.
