Kenyan athletics icon Beatrice Chebet has added yet another milestone to her illustrious career after being awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree – Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) – by the University of Kabianga, on Friday 14th November 2025.
The conferment, done through the School of Education and Social Science, recognizes her exceptional contribution to sports and her influence as a role model to young athletes across the country.

Chebet, a double Olympic and World Champion, shared her gratitude in a heartfelt message on Instagram, describing the honour as a defining moment in both her professional journey and personal life.
She noted that the recognition strengthens her commitment to maintain excellence and uphold high standards of discipline and focus, virtues that have shaped her path to global success.

The celebrated athlete reaffirmed her dedication to nurturing the next generation of sports talent. She said she will continue mentoring young athletes, encouraging them to pursue their dreams fearlessly and break global barriers.

Chebet also extended appreciation to her family, friends, and supporters who have walked with her through the years.
She congratulated the 1,898 graduands who completed their studies during the university’s 13th graduation ceremony, urging them to make a meaningful impact in society.
