Drama ensued at a women empowerment event in Kigumo, Murang’a County, after fighting erupted.
The event, held on Monday, April 15, was being attended by Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) Alice Wahome (Lands), Aisha Jumwa (Gender), and Simon Chelugui (Cooperative and SMEs).
Reports indicate that the fight started when Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina accused Maragua MP Mary Waithira of maligning her during previous public gatherings, hence destroying her reputation.
The event has been halted as security personnel try to calm the situation after supporters of the two leaders against each other.
