EAJGR Easter super ranking draws regional talent to Windsor

The April East Africa Junior Golf Ranking (EAJGR) Easter Super Ranking tournament attracted 25 participants from across the region, underlining the platform’s growing reach and inclusivity.

Players represented Nyahururu Golf Club, Uganda Golf Club (through Arianna Jenny), Marurui Primary School, St. Ruth School, Thika Sports Club, and USIU University at the event held at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.

The tournament delivered strong performances across all categories.

In the Men’s Under-25 category, Saruni Meely (USIU) emerged as the winner. Kiarie Ngigi (USIU) finished runner-up with a score of 299, while Igor Muhakwa (USIU) placed third on 310.

Jamie Gakobo of Thika Sports Club dominated the Boys 15–18 category, securing top position with an impressive score of 266.

Nosim Konchella (USIU) claimed victory in the Ladies Under-18 category.

In the Boys Under-15 category, James Munyororo of Marurui Primary School won with a score of 307, with Keiran Kimani from Nyahururu Golf Club finishing as runner-up.

Abigael Ayuma, also from Marurui Primary School, topped the Girls Under-15 category with a gross score of 302.

Alex Muraya of Marurui Primary School took first place in the Boys Under-12 category.

In the Girls Under-10 category, Arianna Jenny of Uganda Golf Club secured the win. Zara Mutungi of St. Ruth School finished second, while Nia Kiuna Kovacs of Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club came in third.

The Easter Super Ranking tournament continues to play a key role in strengthening junior golf development by offering a competitive platform for young players to gain exposure, build experience, and progress within the East Africa ranking system.

Growing participation from regional clubs further highlights the EAJGR initiative’s expanding influence in shaping the future of golf in East Africa.
