The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, has announced the official release of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) results for the 2024 KCSE candidates.
The announcement made on Tuesday July 1, 2025 marks a significant milestone in the country’s education calendar and comes after weeks of anticipation from students and parents alike.
Speaking at the Ministry of Education headquarters, Ogamba emphasized the government’s commitment to fair and transparent student placement into universities, colleges, and technical training institutions.
“This marks a key step in our commitment to ensuring fair, transparent, and timely placement of students into universities and colleges across the country,” Ogamba said.
This year’s placement exercise saw thousands of KCSE graduates placed to degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan courses in institutions across the country.
According to KUCCPS, the process was informed by students’ course choices, cluster weights, performance, and available slots in various institutions.
Education stakeholders have praised the timely release, noting that early communication helps students and families prepare logistically and financially for the next phase of their academic journey.
University admissions are expected to begin in August, giving institutions adequate time to process admissions and students to plan for enrollment.
The Ministry also announced that students can now log in to the KUCCPS student portal to confirm their placement details. Those dissatisfied with their placements will have a window to apply for inter-institutional transfers in the coming weeks.
The release of placement results also signals the start of preparations for HELB loan applications and orientation programs across various campuses.
