Elon Musk has publicly denied allegations of drug use made by the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal escalating tension between Tech Mogul and the media outlets.

In response to the reports which questioned his behavior and implied possible substance abuse Musk voluntarily underwent two types of drug tests to clear his name. The first a urine test capable of detecting drug use over a short period of time and the second a hair follicle test that can reveal drug use over the past 90 days but reportedly came back negative.

“I don’t smoke weed.” Musk stated on social media challenging the credibility of the publications and accusing them of engaging in character assassination’s.

In a dramatic twist Musk has now called for the journalists behind the reports to also undergo drug testing suggesting that accountability should be applied equally to media figures who make such claims..

the incident has added fuel to Musk’s ongoing criticism of traditional media which he often accuses of bias, misinformation and unethical reporting.

Neither the New York Times nor The Street Wall have responded publicly to Musk demand .T he story has reignited debate over media ethics, personal privacy and boundaries of journalism in the age of celebrity CEO’s.
