Emirates commits to ultra-fast starlink wi-fi across its 232 aircrafts

For decades, the promise of in-flight connectivity has been met with slow speeds and frustrating drop-outs. Now, Emirates Airlines is spearheading a fundamental shift in the passenger experience, signaling the end of that era. The airline has signed a major deal with Starlink to deploy its ultra-fast Wi-Fi across its entire fleet, starting this November.

This move reinforces Emirates’ long-standing commitment to offering industry-leading connectivity, finally delivering an internet service that meets the demands of the modern traveller.

The new complimentary service is set to provide ground-quality internet at cruising altitude, fundamentally changing how passengers use their time mid-air. The airline has already equipped its first aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, registered as A6-EPF, which is currently on display at the Dubai Airshow for visitors to experience the high speeds first-hand.

The Starlink connectivity will allow customers to stream content effortlessly on personal devices and seatback screens simultaneously, engage in online gaming, make clear voice calls, work remotely with no compromise on speed, and browse social media seamlessly throughout their journey.

This seamless integration ensures a connected experience at scale across all cabin classes.

The deployment of Starlink Wi-Fi is a massive undertaking, covering Emirates’ entire in-service fleet of 232 aircraft.

The ambitious rollout is scheduled as follows:

November 2025: Installation begins with the Boeing 777 fleet.

February 2026: Installation commences on the Airbus A380 fleet.

The full rollout is expected to be finished by mid-2027.

The airline plans to fit out approximately 14 aircraft per month to ensure the entire fleet is connected as quickly as possible.

Emirates joins a select group of global carriers, including Qatar Airways, United Airlines, Air France, Hawaiian Airlines, and airBaltic, that have adopted Starlink internet.

However, once its comprehensive installation is complete, Emirates will command the world’s largest fleet with in-flight Starlink Wi-Fi. This strategic investment positions the airline not merely as an adopter of new technology, but as a key driver in defining what constitutes a premium, connected flying experience in the years to come.
