Comedian turned activist, and philanthropist Eric Omondi is set to undertake one of his most ambitious charitable endeavors yet: a gruelling 486-kilometre walk/run from Nairobi to Mombasa to mobilize support and funds for vulnerable Kenyans.
Omondi announced the initiative recently, under the Sisi Kwa Sisi campaign. The walk will commence on Monday, February 10, 2026, and span four consecutive days.
The team plans to cover the distance daily from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, blending walking and running to make the journey feasible while drawing massive public attention.
Omondi, who has built a reputation for grassroots philanthropy having raised over Ksh72 million since 2024 for various community causes described the walk as a call for national unity and generosity.
The initiative will bring together a core team of 10 from with the country, with participants from counties along the route joining to hand over the baton, ensuring broad representation.
In preparation, Omondi recently met with Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir to discuss logistics and community involvement.
The Governor expressed full support, announcing he would join the final 2–5 kilometres into Mombasa and host a vibrant Valentine’s Day event at Mama Ngina Waterfront on February 14.
The arrival celebration will feature local comedians, DJs, musical artists, and creative showcases, themed around love, giving, and solidarity.
Details on donation channels, exact route stops, and participating celebrities will be shared closer to the start date.
