Comedian Eric Omondi visited the family of deceased content creator Zakaria Kariuki, alias KK Mwenyewe, at their Lari home. KK died on July 14, 2025 while undergoing treatment.
KK rose to fame after his videos mimicking former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua went viral while resonating with most Kenyans.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Eric arrived at the family home in Lari constituency, where the late creator’s mother, Dorcas Withira Kariuki, welcomed him. After a short prayer, he engaged with the family for a couple of minutes.
Eric further urged Kenyans to rally behind the family during these trying times, pledging his support in ensuring a brother in the game is accorded a befitting send-off.
He also did not shy off from making a clarion call to fellow comedians and creators to be on the forefront in supporting the family.

“Team sisi kwa sisi, let us stand with this family, especially financially in ensuring we give our hero a decent send off,” he urged.
Following the visit, KK’s mother Ms. Kariuki, expressed her gratitude towards all the efforts made so far.
“We are grateful to you all for supporting us. My son was a hero. He had promised me a lot, but we respect God’s will. Thank you all once again,” she said.
Eric also provided support avenues for Kenyans of goodwill to channel their contribution to KK’s mother, while revealing burial plans scheduled for Wednesday, July 30.
