Families rendered homeless as strong winds destroy houses in Ndhiwa

At least eight families have been left homeless after strong winds destroyed their homes in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County, on Tuesday, September 9 evening.

The affected families come form Abuoro, Kombe, and Manyonyi villages in East Kochieng Sub-Location.

Besides homes, a local church and a dispensary were also affected.

Residents said the region normally experience heavy rainfall and strong winds, with the most affected being women and children.

The residents, led by East Kachien Sub-Location Assistant Chief Kennedy Oyugi, called on well-wishers and the county department of disaster to help repair the damages and support those affected.
