President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet on Saturday February 7, 2026 led a team of leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza Government in campaigns for the UDA Candidate in the race for Isiolo South Parliamentary Seat that fell vacant following the death of Mohamed Tubi Bidu in November Last year.
Upon the death of the former MP, elders from various communities settled on one of his sons, Tubi Mohamed Tubi to complete the remainder of his father’s term, vying on the ruling party UDA’s ticket.
A few weeks later, his Sister Bina Tubi also announced that she would challenge her brother for the Parliamentary seat, and was sponsored by Jubilee Party, setting the stage for a bitter sibling rivalry in the polls that are set to take place on 26th February.
Farouk and Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo urged the pastoralist community to ensure that they are firmly rooted in the ruling party, by voting for Tubi Junior to represent them in Parliament, arguing that people from the region have major reasons to support the Government.
UDA Legislators Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi) and Japheth Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North) slammed former President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of dividing the Late MP Mohamed Tubi Bidu’s family, by sponsoring Bina to challenge her brother Tubi Mohamed Tubi for the seat.
They asked the former Head of State to respect President Ruto and retire from active politics honorably, or risk being dragged into dirty politics.
UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar said that the ongoing sibling rivalry was regrettable, and asked local elders to find and convince Bina to shelve her ambitions and support her brother, noting that she will be enabled to have a sitting with President Ruto and strike an amicable solution to the rivalry, so that both siblings are in a win win situation.
Also vying for the seat is former Kinna ward MCA Isaack Fayo, who will be contesting on the National Economic Development Party that was registered by Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko recently.
The Kenya Kwanza leaders held campaign rallies in Garbatulla and Kinna towns, before heading to Algani Girls Secondary School for a funds drive in aid of school infrastructure, where they helped raise KSh10 million.
