The 2024/25 FKF Women Premier League season reaches an exhilarating climax this Sunday, May 25, with all eyes on the title race as the final round of fixtures kicks off simultaneously at 2:00 PM across various venues nationwide.
The title race is going down to the wire, with Kenya Police Bullets leading the table with 43 points and a goal difference of +31 just two points ahead of second placed Ulinzi.
Kenya Police Bullets seemed to have clinched the title after a draw against Vihiga Queens in their last match. However, a late ruling on an appeal from Ulinzi Starlets regarding the eligibility of Zetech Sparks player Bertha Omita reduced Police Bullets’ lead to just two points. The decision set the stage for a dramatic finish to the season.
Ulinzi Starlets are now hot on Bullets’ heels as they are just two points behind on 41, with a goal difference of +25. With only one match left, both sides are still in contention for the crown — and the permutations are plentiful.
For Police Bullets, a victory on the final day against seventh-placed Trinity Starlets at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru will secure back-to-back league titles, regardless of Ulinzi’s result. However, any slip-up could be costly. If the Bullets lose and Ulinzi wins against ninth-placed Kisumu All Starlets at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi, Ulinzi will leapfrog them to be crowned champions.
The margins are so tight that even a draw for Police and a seven-goal victory for Ulinzi would see the title head to the military side on goal difference. Conversely, if Ulinzi fails to secure maximum points, Police Bullets will be confirmed champions — even with a loss.
In other matches, eighth-placed Kisped Queens will host fourth-placed Vihiga Queens at Moi Stadium in Kisumu. While both teams are out of title contention, this clash could determine final placements in the mid-table.
Bottom side Bunyore Starlets takes on 6th-placed Bungoma Queens at Mumboha Grounds in Luanda. Already relegated, Bunyore will be playing for pride in front of their home fans. Bungoma, meanwhile, could climb up the table if results elsewhere go in their favor.
Third-placed Kibera Soccer Women face off against already relegated 10th-placed Mombasa Olympic FC at Marist International University in Karen.
