FKF Women’s Cup: Kibera knock out Police Bullets to set up final against Vihiga Queens

Kibera Soccer Women continued their impressive 2025 FKF Women’s Cup run by knocking out league champions Kenya Police Bullets with a 2-0 win in the semi-finals on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Dandora Stadium, setting up a final clash against Vihiga Queens.

The tightly contested encounter was goalless at halftime, but Kibera’s breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Maximilla Robi found the back of the net, giving her side a crucial lead.

As Police Bullets pushed for an equalizer, Kibera remained composed and sealed the win deep into stoppage time. Faith Mboya was fouled inside the box and calmly converted the resulting penalty in the 92nd minute, ending Police Bullets’ hopes of a domestic double. The loss marks the second consecutive year Police Bullets have exited the Cup at the semi-final stage.

Elsewhere, at the Mumias Sports Complex, Vihiga Queens edged Bungoma Queens FC 2-1 in another action-packed semi-final. Vihiga got off to a flying start with Diana Cherono Sigei opening the scoring in the 11th minute. However, Bungoma Queens responded swiftly through Khaemba Carolyne’s 30th-minute equalizer, leaving the match level at 1-1 by halftime.

The second half was a tense affair, but it was Noel Amutata who rose to the occasion, netting the winning goal for Vihiga Queens in the 84th minute to send the former champions into the final.

Despite a lackluster league campaign that saw them finish fourth, Vihiga Queens will now look to end their season on a high by reclaiming the Cup title.

The FKF Women’s Cup final will now feature Kibera Soccer Women against Vihiga Queens, a clash that promises excitement.

Kibera’s win adds another feather to their cap after they knocked out defending champions Ulinzi Starlets in the quarterfinals via a dramatic 4–3 penalty shootout, where the competition is set to have a new champion.
