Bidco United handed Gor Mahia a rude awakening in their opening match of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday September 21, 2025 in the afternoon.
The first half saw Gor push forward with intent, creating chances through Ebenezer Adukwam and Bryton Onyona, but Bidco’s backline held firm leading to a goalless first half.
Against the run of play, Bidco found their breakthrough late in the second half when substitute Newton Ochieng calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 88th minute, silencing the Green Army faithful.
The defeat leaves Gor Mahia in 15th place after Week 1, while Bidco go fourth with three points.
In another match of the day, at St. Sebastian Park, Ulinzi Stars bagged a slim 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal.
Paul Okoth scored his maiden goal for the Soldiers in the 90th minute after being set up by Telena Ochieng, snatching all three points.
Ulinzi now sit third in the table, behind leaders Shabana FC and KCB on goal difference.
Earlier, Shabana gave newly promoted APS Bomet a rude welcome to the top tier league thumping them 4-2 at Gusii Stadium in front of their home fans.
The win sent them to the summit of the standings on three points.
The matchweek one league action wraps up tomorrow with Mathare United hosting Posta Rangers at Kasarani Annex.
