Shabana FC began their FKF Premier League campaign on a high with a 4-2 victory over newcomers APS Bomet in an entertaining clash in Kisii on Sunday September 21, 2025 in the afternoon.
The hosts made their intentions clear early on, with Brian Michira Migiro striking twice in 11 minutes.
He opened the scoring in the 2nd minute before doubling the lead from the penalty spot after a Bomet player handled the ball in the box.
Things got worse for the visitors in the 19th minute when an effort by Ezekiah Omuri was bundled into the net by Bomet’s defence for an own goal.
Bomet pulled one back in the 36th minute after they were awarded a penalty.
Goalkeeper Bob Cetric stepped up and converted, becoming the first keeper to score in the Premier League this season.
He had already earned a reputation last year in the NSL as the league’s highest-scoring goalkeeper with two goals.
Shabana went into the break leading 3-1.
The second half saw APS Bomet reduce the deficit further in the 89th minute when Hansel Ochieng’ scored a superb free kick to make it 3-2.
But Shabana restored their cushion in stoppage time as Derrick Otieno struck to seal a 4-2 win for the home side.
