Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani has been arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers.
This followed a raid by EACC officers at his home in Nairobi.
The anti-corruption team reportedly also raided the home of Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali.
It is not yet clear what informed their search in the two homes.
Yatani served as Marsabit Governor before he was appointed to the National Treasury by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He is expected to be presented at the Integrity Centre in Nairobi.
