Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife, Carrie Johnson, have welcomed their fourth child together, a baby girl named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson. The happy news was shared by Mrs. Johnson on social media, delighting fans and well-wishers across the globe.
Poppy was born on 21 May, with Mrs. Johnson expressing her joy and gratitude in a heartfelt Instagram post. “I can’t believe how pretty and tiny you are. Feel so incredibly lucky. We are all totally smitten. Not sure I’ve slept a minute since you were born as can’t stop looking at how completely lovely you are,” she wrote.
The couple’s growing family now includes Wilfred, Romy, and Frank. Mrs. Johnson extended her thanks to the maternity team at University College London Hospital, singling out Asma and Patrick for their exceptional care throughout her pregnancies. “I really cannot thank you guys enough,” she added.
Mrs. Johnson also shared a glimpse into family life, revealing that the older siblings are thrilled, especially Romy, who had been hoping for a little sister. “Bring on the matching dresses,” she joked.
Now out of hospital, Mrs. Johnson is looking forward to relaxing at home, writing, “Cocktails and pizza with my tiny baby snoozing on my lap. Life doesn’t get any better.”
The Johnsons married in May 2021. Their eldest, Wilfred, was born in April 2020, followed by Romy in December 2021, and Frank in July 2023. Baby Poppy, described as the “final gang member” by her mother, is Boris Johnson’s ninth child.
Congratulations have poured in from friends, family, and the public, marking another joyful milestone for the former prime minister and his family.
