Kilimani detectives have recovered a stolen Glock 19 pistol and arrested four suspects linked to a brazen hotel room theft.
The drama unfolded when a licensed firearm holder locked his hotel room in Kilimani, Nairobi and stepped out to run some errands, confident his valuables were secure.
Among his possessions were his Glock 19 pistol and two magazines loaded with 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition, all safely locked away or so he thought.
When he returned, the complainant was met with a shocking scene.
His hotel room had been raided and his firearm along with the ammunition had vanished.
He immediately reported the theft to police, setting off an intensive investigation.
Detectives refused to let the case go cold and launched a thorough probe into the disappearance.
Following forensic leads and intelligence gathering, investigators traced the stolen weapon to Kangemi in Dagoretti North, where the operation took a decisive turn.
Acting swiftly, officers raided a residence in the area and arrested four suspects identified as Alex Agar, Harrison Oyuoma, Dan Karani and Beatrice Njoki.
During a search of their home, detectives discovered the missing Glock 19 pistol, which the suspects had attempted to hide but failed to conceal well enough from the sharp-eyed officers.
All four suspects are currently in police custody undergoing processing as they await their day in court.
