Police officers in Nairobi early Wednesday, June 4, 2025, confirmed the recovery of a plastic revolver, six rubber bullets, and a knife marked “AK47” following a night operation that led to the arrest of four suspects.
Acting on a crucial tip-off from the public, police intercepted the suspects who were riding in a suspicious vehicle along Kenyatta Avenue, apprehending them at a petrol station.
“The intervention followed a tip-off from members of the public, who had observed one of the individuals brandishing what appeared to be a firearm, arousing suspicion,” a NPS statement read in part.
All four suspects, who reportedly appeared intoxicated at the time of arrest, have been taken into police custody for further questioning.

Their vehicle has been impounded as investigations continue to determine their motive behind the possession of the items.
This incident adds to the ongoing police crackdown on criminal gangs within Nairobi and its environs, amidst heightened security measures implemented by various agencies across the country.
Security agencies have lauded the public’s increased cooperation in the recent apprehension of suspected criminals, calling the growing support and trust in the police a major step forward in fighting insecurity.
