DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has sharply condemned the leaders from Murang’a County who attended President William Ruto’s meeting at State House, branding them as ‘traitors.’
Speaking at his Karen home, Gachagua, who was accompanied by his supporters from the mountain, said the leaders who attended the meeting should be shown the door come 2027.
He called on the people of Murang’a to eliminate them through the ballot, saying they do not have the people’s interests at heart.
“I want to tell the people of Murang’a to take note of the people who are with me here today; these are the people who care about them, these are true leaders. In equal measure, I want the people to take note of the traitors in State House, those who are selling the people for little money for their stomachs,” he said.
The former Deputy President has described the ongoing meetings as a haven for corruption.
He has accused President Ruto of enabling corruption under the guise of mobilization, highlighting that these gatherings are nothing but platforms for illicit dealings rather than genuine dialogue.
He further condemned the lack of tangible development under President Ruto’s leadership, asserting that the president has done little in terms of actual progress and has no right to boast about achievements that do not exist.
“The people of Murang’a do not need to go to State House for developments… we signed an economic charter for development three years ago, and he has done nothing, and there is nothing he will do in the next two years,” he stated.
Gachagua has also warned of a scheme aimed at dividing Mount Kenya, urging the people of the region to remain resilient.
“He called on the people of Kiambu to tell them to separate from the Mountain; he is planning to sponsor a candidate to come and divide the votes,” Gachagua said.
He called on residents to be vigilant and to identify leaders who are selfish and working with distractors to undermine the region’s unity and progress.
