Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana is certain that Rigathi Gachagua will oppose the 2025 Finance Bill without even reading or going through it to familiarise with its contents.

Speaking during TV47’s Morning Cafe show, Senator Mungatana said that Gachagua and his opposition allies had become accustomed to opposing anything the government says or does, without any sensible rational.

“I can guarantee you that Gachagua is not telling the truth when he says that they are going to look at it [Finance Bill 2025]. I can guarantee you that he is going to say no to finance bill,” Senator Mungatana said.

The lawmaker also faulted the current opposition figures of always habouring negative sentiments against the Kenya Kwanza Government, and not offering any alternative leadership to Kenyans.

Mungatana insists that the current opposition, led by the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), is focused on dragging the country down without proper investigation of issues just to make headlines, which is different from former opposition regimes like Mwai Kibaki’s, where issues were looked into carefully and brought to the public for scrutiny.

“…Then Cleophas Malala will try to work out the streets and say that ‘Finance Bill is killing you…you are going to die before December…Ruto must be one term,’ and all those sort of things. I remember the days when opposition was the likes of Mwai Kibaki, Wamalwa Kijana, they would look at issues, sit and debate them as opposition, and bring them before the people. But today, it is just negative spewing of stuff, and we can always predict. Ultimately, Gachagua and Malala has nothing to offer this country.”

The Senator assured that the government is working it’s way out to ensure that the country’s economy is stable.
