Gladys Boss: “Judiciary didn’t like me… I was too transformational”

Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Boss shares about her career journey, including her term as Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, her experiences on marriage and divorce, and the challenges she has faced as a woman in the judicial field, during an interview on Mfahamu Mwongozi.

Boss Gladys revealed that during her time at the Judiciary, she had so many ideas for change. However, the institution seemed resistance to embrace change prompting her to resign.

“I think they were not ready for change and eventually I ran into a lot of trouble. They didn’t like me there. I think I was too transformational for them” Gladys Boss said.

She however disclosed that following that experience, she didn’t feel demotivated, instead, it brought forth new and even greater opportunities for her.

“No they didn’t do me justice, it probably was the greatest injustice by a justice legal system.” Boss Glady’s remarked regarding her resignation.

She continued to discuss the corruption accusations that prompted her resignation, mentioning that all charges against her were withdrawn, and she was found not guilty after a Supreme Court battle.

Boss Glady’s was cleared by Supreme Court in 2022.

Now, the remaining topic of discussion revolves around determining the compensation she will receive to make up for the damages they caused her.

“The thing is that I was blessed to have a very strong family system around me. I went to every TV station to explain myself and clear myself.” Boss Gladys said upon asked how she was able to overcome that hard time.

Speaking on her marriage, Glady’s said that she has moved on from her first marriage with Sam Sholei whom they share four children and she is now married to someone she always knew, Dr Neil Richard Horn.

“I dated my current husband before my first marriage, this was when I was at the university of Cape Town.” Glady’s Boss.

The two had a traditional wedding here in Kenya and then later on had another one in Cape Town.
