Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has declared Nominated Speaker Gloria Orwoba’s seat vacant. United Democratic Alliance (UDA) fowarded the name of Consolata Wabwire Wakwabubi from Kimilili, Bungoma County to replace her.
UDA Disciplinary Committee on Monday, May 19 expelled Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba from the party.
In a statement that was seen by TV47 Digital, the committee said that it had exhaustively deliberated on the matters and resolved to expel Senator Orwoba from the ruling party with immediate effect.
The disciplinary committee’s resolution, the party says, was adopted and ratified by the National Executive Committee during a meeting held on 19th May 2025.
“Accordingly, Senator Gloria Orwoba ceases to be a member of the UDA Party. Consequently, she no longer enjoys any privileges accorded to party members nor is she authorized to represent or act on behalf of the Party in any capacity,” the party said.
Consequently, the party revealed that it has now formally written to Senate Speaker Amason Kingi to initiate the process of her removal from the Senate.

Additionally, the Party notified the Registrar of Political Parties (RPP) and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of Orwoba’s expulsion.
“In accordance with the Party’s Nomination Rules and based on the Party List submitted to the IEBC, prior to the 2022 General Elections, the Party has nominated Mrs. Consolata Wabwire Wakwabubi from Kimilili Constituency, Bungoma County to fill the resulting vacancy,” UDA announced
UDA added: “While the UDA Party upholds the values of freedom of expression and association as enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, fidelity and loyalty to Party ideals are fundamental to its constitution and to further consolidate our multiparty politics by strengthening political parties. Hon. Gloria Orwoba cannot therefore continue to play for two political teams simultaneously.”
